New Song!

Zoe from Touching Elbows here. Just like to say that all is well at Camp Elbow- we're practicing/fine tuning all our old songs and hard at work writting new one. SO here a look at some of the stuff we're working with:

VERSE:

How’d this happen?

I said - how the hell did this happen!

How did I get this voice singing?

How I get these feet tapping?

In my head I never thought

Id ever get too trying at all

But then you’re telling me

That this is all my fault

CHORUS:

Forget bad timing and bad luck

Too late to look back,

My minds made up

VERSE:

Only the privilegedgot to see you play

You push me to go my way

Isn’t this you've waited for?

Nothing but full out war

Maybe I really needed this

And maybe I really want this

I can run faster now

Never going to get enough of it

BRIDGE:

I know- I have my head in the clouds

So what if I work best under the gun?

This is my life and I’m living it

This time I won’t be outdone

Belated Thanks

Thanks to everyone who came out to Azalea Festival and sorry to those who didn't catch us. Yes, our slot got moved again. This year AzFest was running an hour late so we traded with another band who was missing a member, so we ended up playing the same time as the set before us would have been (aka 30 mins early). We have no luck with this place. BUT it was a successful 2nd year, so thanks for coming out, and if you didn't see us, we hope to see you next year!

Exciting News: T.E. will be heading into "studio" soon to record. We received hours with local Cue Studios for selling 100+ tickets at February 9:30 show (thanks Concerts First). We hope to get down to work around Easter, till then we're back to basics and writing songs. If you're lucky- we'll post some demos :)

Again, thanks to everyone who came to our 9:30 show- it was awesome. Our MySpace now has versions of all your favorate T.E. songs and will soon include Live versions from the Big Thing show.

Also we listed a few new shows (see above). We'd love to have you guys show up to them and spread the love. As always stay tuned for set times and such.

Blink 182

Completely unrelated to the band but something had to be said....

SO-

Blink 182 reforms and it doesn't make the Buzznet homepage.

WHAT?
I'm sorry but that doesn't sit with me.

Buzzent seems to pride in including a strong musically element and Blink 182 is argued to be one of the best bands of its time.
Even if you don't like their music, you can't disregard the music skill of someone like Travis Barker.

Thoughts?

---

And as always...

REMINDER: Buy your tickets from band members on a pre-sale for $15 (otherwise at the door) for Touching Elbows show at the 9:30 club on February 15th.

Hi everybody,

So its been a while since an actual update from us here at Camp T.E. but don't worry we're still here and we're working as hard as ever.

For starters, like we mentioned in an earlier photo post, the band received recording time over the holiday season and we fully plan to use that time soon. So be on the look out for new songs and better versions of the old ones.

Also, it's been a snowy mess here in MD. That being said, we've lots of cold weather and even our first snow day! So where does this leave the members of T.E.? Well for one thing the winter-y mix has prompted us into updating our myspace and purevolume sites (so make sure to check them out!!!)

In other news, for a new song that that band worked on this week we're proud to introduce Zoe on backup vocals and Jonah on cello. Plans are to have it in the set list for the 9:30 show so get excited!  But just to give you an idea of what we're working with...

Title: Btown Shakedown

INTRO:

It’s almost April now

I’m feeling better than home

Waking up, walking down

Breathing in the cold

VERSE:

The locals and lost bets

All the sights and the sounds

The Set-ups and sunsets

I plant my feet on the ground

Before they find out

Before they know we've slipped away

Come on, run back

I’ll think of something to say

CHORUS:

Let’s enjoy the time we have

And I’m feeling more than I can say

Let’s enjoy it while we still can

Feeling the best that I can today

BRIDGE:

Sunglasses inside

A white collar

The afternoon

And ten dollars

VERSE:

The bedroom communities

Of New York or New Jersey

Just can't compare

To the lights of DC

CHORUS:

Let’s enjoy the time we have

And I’m feeling more than I can say

Let’s enjoy it while we still can

Feeling the best that I can today

--

Hope you're liking what your seeing. We'll try to have a recording of that song up by this weekend :)

And remember to come to our 9:30 show!!!

yet ANOTHER New Song in the Works

prolific aren't we?

---

(Title?) Stay Home & Get Well

verse1
Fighting what I'm feeling
Dodging every truth
I'm with pretending
And I'm chasing after you

bridge
Unconventional
And never typical
Stay home and get well

chorus
I know, I know, I know
I've been there for you
And I know, I know, I know
It shows

verse2
But this might land me in trouble
I might be getting in too deep
But either way I'm standing firm
I'm not moving till you leave

Don't Worry

NEW SONG! Yay us.

Title: Don't Worry
(used to be DWTDMYALOAD)

The rain's finally stopping

The signal's dropping
The line's breaking up
You sound like you're choking up

My speech all night long
Every word perfectly timed
Every word delicate and refined
Her me and then I'm gone

I say, "It must be better than it seems
And who knows what the future means"
But friends come first

So take one for the team

Sorry I forgot
Who I was talking to
Guess that means I'm dealing with you
Must be all for naught

Let me guess
You look upset
You've been used and misled
 You're smashed and pressed

I say, "it must be better than it seems
And who knows what the future means"
 But friends come first

So take one for the team

Don't worry you'll be fine alone
Stop staying up by the phone
Don't sweat over this
You're fine on your own

I say, "it must be better than it seems
And who knows what the future means"
But friends come first

So take one for the team

- the members of T.E.

We're Playing the 9:30 Club!

Guess what?!

Touching Elbows is playing at the 9:30 club on Sunday, February 15th!!!!

It's actually a pretty cool story, so I'll write it out for you:

So we're having band practice and we took a cake break (because my mum is the best baker of all time and feeds us everything the band could ever want!) when Zoe gets this call from a random number, unbeknownst to Jonah, Marcus, or myself. So, then Zoe starts smacking me and says "Guys! Guys! We got a call!" and the three of us are thinking "Yeah, duh!" but then all of a sudden Zoe starts saying things like "Touching Elbows," "We're in highschool," "We're 16 and 17," etc. and J, M, and me are like WOAH! And Marcus starts screaming "RECORD DEAL?!"

Then Zoe turns totally pale and runs over to my couch, while still on the phone, and starts to fall onto it, and we're thinking she's about to hurl. So Jonah, Marcus, and me are in this huddle waiting for her to finish. Zoe hangs up the phone and says, as calm as she can, "Mother of all things holy, we're playing at the 9:30."

Enter extreme enthusiasm! Jonah, Marcus, my parents, and me start screaming at the top of our lungs and we're all saying "NO WAY! NO WAY!" And then we call back the person who called us, to tell them that we had talked it over and YES! we would like to play at the 9:30. I had to do the talking though because Zoe could stomach it. And then everyone calls the relatives, telling them about the great news.

So here I am, writing about this awesome news after band practice. We're all so excited and we'll hope you come to the show! Cause we're pretty pumped to be playing at the one place we've been dying to play our entire lives!

 Love, Touching Elbows (J, M, M, Z)

Get Lucky

There I go again
Sarcastically repeating
Every word that you said.

But it helps: the caffeine cause I think I’m starting to see.
So I stand a little taller
Brush off bad luck
And swallow down my pride.

Days may drag on
but I’m so deserving
And sooner or later,
My luck will be turning.

I tell myself: give up,
Grow up already.
They're all so tired.

So I stand little taller
Brush off bad luck
And swallow down my pride.

Days may drag on
But I’m so deserving
Sooner or later,
My luck will be turning.

I’m so deserving. My luck is turning.
I’m so deserving. My luck is turning.
I’m so deserving. My luck is turning.

So I stand little taller,
Brush off the bad luck
And swallow down my pride.

Days may drag on,
But I’m so deserving
And sooner or later
My luck will be turning now.

Time Flies

Since 1970 standing alone on a northern hill.
Waiting steadily while time stands still.
The wings on your back.
The reaper dressed in black.
Carry you through the years and the bitter tears.

And time flies.
The exciting part of your life is over.
Your friends all died buried under the clover.
And times flies
And flies
And flies

Since 1970 standing alone on a northern hill.
Waiting steadily while time stands still.
The wings on your back and
The years went way to fast

You're still in 1970, you're still in 1970.

And time flies.
The exciting part of your life is over.
Your friends all died buried under the clover.
And times flies
And flies
And flies

You're all alone.
Just so hard on everybody.
You're down off your throne.
You're just trying to find someone.

And time flies and time flies
And time flies and time flies.

And time flies
The exciting part of your life is over.
Your friends all died buried under the clover.
And times flies
And flies
And flies.

Forever Stare

It’s a race against all odds
And everyone’s for the other team
And it never seems quite fair
When they don’t cheer for types like me

Sitting is like standing
I’m going everywhere
Writing and endless planning
Just a forever stare

When she doesn’t take her meds
She talks to me
She’s got drugs in her veins
Then I just leave her be

Trust me; I don’t want to ruin this
I’m just really bad at coming up with excuses

Sitting is like standing
I’m going everywhere
Writing and endless planning
Just a forever stare

Sitting is like standing
I’m going everywhere
Writing and endless planning
Just a forever stare

Alpine Air

Got a bullet in the brain
And the East Coast blues
Got to figure out a way
To go and show off my moves

Well, I don't have my manners
And I don't have my mind
And I've been missing you for weeks
And you know it can't be a good sign
When I'm running out of time

Got a bullet in the brain
And the East Coast blues
Got to figure out a way
To go and show off my moves

Well I'm holding myself above my head
And blaming you for what was said

Got a bullet in the brain
And the East Coast blues
Got to figure out a way
To go and show off my moves

Got a bullet in the brain
And the East Coast blues
Got to figure out a way
To go and show off my moves

I don't have no manners
But I've found my mind
So I'm breaking out tonight
All I know is that I'm feeling fine
So don't miss the sign
